We're back from Fire Island! It was a really nice and relaxing trip! The weather was perfect! I am happy to be home though (though less happy to be at work today...bleh). I have like a zillion friends entries and bloglines to catch up on today, so let me know if I missed anything super exciting!
This is us going over on the ferry from Long Island to Fire Island. Familiarize yourself with my sunhat, since it was really humid and windy like every day, my hair was a disaster, so I pretty much never took the hat off.
And here we are chillin at the beach
Here are some random beach pictures:
Here's a picture of us at dinner one night...See, I told you my hair was a mess. Here I am sporting what I believe is generally known as "Rediculous Pregnancy Rack Syndrome"...my boobs are freaking huge now! I really hope they don't get any bigger; I'm sick of buying new bras every week. Too bad they hurt too much for anyone to take advantage of it! :P
We decided to trek into New York City for the 4th of July. We went to Coney Island for the day and saw the tail end of the World Hot Dog Eating Championship. This yellow haired dude ate 53 and 3/4 hot dogs. GROSS.
I don't know how many of you have seen the movie "The Warriors" but it's this cheese-ball 70s movie about a bunch of NY street gangs in a big gang war and one of the gangs (The Warriors) has to get home to Coney Island. Finally when they get to Coney Island, they see the Wonder Wheel and know they are on their home turf and safe...yeah, it's as cool as it sounds. It's one of Matt's favorite movies so he was insistant upon riding the Wonder Wheel. It's the biggest ferris wheel in the world apparently.
Us, on the Wonder Wheel. I think technically I was not really supposed to go on this ride (they had big "no pregnant women" warnings on it) but it goes really slow, so I thought it would be fine, and it was.
After Coney, we took the subway back into the city to see the fireworks. Here is the NY skyline at the South Street Seaport where we watched the fireworks.
It's hard to get good pictures of fireworks...
View from the docks at Fire Island, sunset, our last night there.
