I don't think I've ever read a fic where Gerard goes off the wagon for Bert, but that doesn't mean they're not out there. The idea is intriguing. What I would wonder in a fic like that is if Gerard has changed enough now that all that excess just isn't as fun as it used to be. Maybe he's grown up....sometimes you just can't go back and recapture a place in time no matter how hard you try.
