Dorothy L. Sayers

You know, I've always known that JKR was influenced by Dorothy L. Sayers' work, but I didn't know to what extent. After finding out that Jo liked her so much, I figured I'd try one of her books, Gaudy Night, and only three chapters in I've already found a reference to glad-rags, the name Fortescue, and the idea of howlers!

These things have probably already been pointed out all over the fandom, but I think it's really funny, plodding along in this completely different book and finding that some of JKR's ideas have roots here.

Oh, and I got a ringtone for my phone! It took me about fifteen million hours to decide, but I finally decided on On the Way Down by Ryan Cabrera, because it wasn't too repetitive (like my first choice, Collide by Howie Day).
