So, last night Ally and I went to Michael's and WalMart to get some supplies for decorations for the Winter Weekend party. We took Amalia's car (she's the only one of us who has one on campus and is very generous in allowing us to use it). Well, when we came out of WalMart, I go to put our bags in the back seat and, lo and behold, there is a huge dent in the car that pretty much comprises the entire back passenger side door, as well as part of the front passenger door. Nobody had left a note or anything. We had no idea what to do, Amalia was in rehearsal and we couldn't get a hold of her, so on the advice of a few friends and parents, we called the police, who came and gave us forms to fill out and such. So, now we have to take the car to get an estimate and everything. Amalia has a $300 deductible, so that's fortunate, but it still means that Ally and I are each going to be out $150 because some asshole didn't own up to his/her actions. Nice.
In the ongoing tale of Heather and ProActiv, there is good and bad news. The good is that it seems to be working very well; a couple of my friends pointed out within the first couple weeks that my skin was really clearing up. I kind of got away from using it for the better part of November, and I started to break out again, so I've been using it diligently for the past week or so, and it's back to working. The bad news is that while the zits are starting to leave, so is my skin's elasticity. Whenever I move my face I can just *feel* it stretching, and if I scrunch it up and look in the mirror, the skin like..stays for a little bit? And it's all dry and gross. I don't mind putting up with a little dryness/tightness for the sake of clear skin, but it's getting a little out of hand, and I'm afraid one day my face will start bleeding or something. I don't want to shell out more of my money to them for their moisturizer, and I don't want to just use lotion because I don't want to get oily or counteract the ProActiv. So, I'm going to take Ally's suggestion and get some sort of really gentle moisturizer, like baby lotion or something, and see how that works. I really hope it does, because nothing has worked as well as ProActiv is proving to, and I'd hate to have to give it up.
On the better side of things, this weekend is shaping up to be a fun, if busy, time. It'll kind of start on Thursday night, when the Banshees have their fall concert. Friday night we're going to see Allison in Rocky Horror, and who knows what afterwards (probably something low-key). Then, Saturday night, Cutter is hosting a mocktail party with the theme "La Vie En Rose," we're decorating and having catered appetizers/desserts, and our entertainment will be the Smiffenpoofs and their guests the Brown Derbies (a cappella groups). I LOVE male a cappella, and the Poofs are great too, so it'll be a fun time.
And... 11 days until Evan!
