I LOVE Sobe Adrenaline Rush! An hour ago I was about to pass out, now I am TOTALLY ready to stay up as late as I have to to do what I need to do. SCORE.
But, I'm taking a tiiiiny break, and I do need to update. Soooo... things that have happened in the past few days:
1. I got tickets to see Evan at the Marshall's Challenge in December!
1a. Rhianna is coming up to see it with me!!!
1b. Our tickets are FRONT ROW!!!!!
I'm literally counting down the days. We just hit 41.
2. Early yesterday evening, somebody left some crescent rolls in the kitchenette microwave for too long (RIGHT across from my room) and our whole hallway was filled with smoke. The fire alarm didn't go off (even though we'd had a fire drill just a couple days ago). The hallway STILL smells like smoke/burning plastic, as does my room if I leave my door open for too long. LOVELY, isn't it?
3. Last night was my first time attending Immorality, Smith's famous "show up in as little clothing as you want (as long as it's not less than a bikini)" party. It was... not terrible, but just a little underwhelming? It was basically just like any other dance, except with more guys, yet the guys were skeevier than usual, so the amount of them was actually a BAD thing. However, my friends and I had fun dancing together, so it wasn't horrible...just not any better than any random dance party. I'd say the best part was just getting ready and hanging out in our outfits beforehand. If you're friends with me on facebook, you can see my wonderful state of undress. :P
4. Evan had his first Grand Prix competition this week (Skate America), and it was televised today.
Evan turned in a shaky but respectable performance of his new short program (it was the debut of it, in fact) and was in third after the short- he was pretty close to second but about 11 points off the lead (Nobunari Oda). He got the highest score during the free skate, but it was only a point higher than Oda's free score, so it wasn't enough to make up the vast difference from the short- so, Evan walked with the silver, which he didn't seem very happy about, which was the only part that made me kind of sad. It was his first time with that short, and it just needs to get more polished- and he did an excellent job with his Carmen free, as always. He knows what he has to do, and I have complete faith that he can do it. And in other news, he apparently has a new exhibition, to "One" by U2, which was not televised... I cannot WAIT to see it. Last year I kept thinking that I wanted Evan to skate to rock. So now his exhibitions include Andrea Bocelli, Michael Buble, and U2. ...and an Elvis/Chris Brown/Johnny Cash mix. Boy has eclectic taste- I like!
I think that's all for list-worthy material. As for me... the slump is still present, but I'm doing all this reading and getting myself out of it- this energy drink is DEFINITELY helping with that. I need to shut up and get back to work now. December 10 will be here soon enough!!!
PS. Rhianna and I just made a list of Evan's BFF's, in descending order:
1. Frank Carroll
2. Us
3. Kurt Browning
4. Michelle Kwan
5. Scott Hamilton
6. Katie Couric
7. Tanith Belbin (aka Evan's girlfriend)
8. Dick Button
9. Johnny Weir
10. The Eurosport commentators
11. Ken Congemi
It's late and I'm tired and also energized at the same time. Forgive the ridiculousness.
