Eye-candy: Tom Cruise

mso-ansi-language:EN-US">My friend inspired me to make this entry. It’s actually supposed to evolve into a series of entries…. Such a little “project” of mine….eye - candies… But yes, my friend inspired me - we were talking about Tom Cruise and she said: “I've always liked Tom Cruise as an actor too. But as a person, I doubt that. You see, the two can be separated?” And I had this light bulb moment....  EXACTLY! We can be a fan of some actor or actress even if we think that personally they.... well, do not match exactly our image of "a human being we'd like to be friends with..." :)

And Tom Cruise could be a great example of it! Great actor, no doubt about that. That’s what I discovered watching Rain Man and Born on the Fourth of July and never changed my mind.... I haven’t seen a bad movie with him. They’re all equally good, either action packed, or simply wise, deep reflections of our reality, present and past. My favourite films would be: Rain Man, The Firm, Interview with the Vampire, Vanilla Sky, Minority Report, The Last Samurai, War of the Worlds, Valkyrie, Eyes Wide Shut and all parts of Mission Impossible - especially #4 and 2 :).

Take a look at what Wikipedia says:

In 1990, 1991 and 1997, People magazine rated him among the 50 most beautiful people in the world. In 1995, Empire magazine ranked him among the 100 sexiest stars in film history. Two years later, it ranked him among the top 5 film stars of all time. In 2002 and 2003, he was rated by Premiere among the top 20 in its annual Power 100 list.

In 2006, Premiere ranked Cruise as Hollywood's most powerful actor, as Cruise came in at number 13 on the magazine's 2006 Power List, being the highest ranked actor. The same year, Forbes magazine ranked him as the world's most powerful celebrity.

In August 2006, "a USA Today/Gallup poll in which half of those surveyed registered an 'unfavorable' opinion of the actor" was cited as a reason in addition to "unacceptable behavior" for Paramount's non-renewal of their production contract with Cruise. In addition, Marketing Evaluations reports that Cruise's Q score (which is a measure of the popularity of celebrities), had fallen 40 percent. It was also revealed that Cruise is the celebrity people would least like as their best friend.

October 10, 2006 was declared "Tom Cruise Day" in Japan; the Japan Memorial Day Association said that he was awarded with a special day because he has made more trips to Japan than any other Hollywood star.

mso-ansi-language:EN-US">I could add that I’m certainly among those people who wouldn’t like to see Cruise among my friends (sponsors maybe…. Lol  But not friends :). His weird ideas, all that scientology…. Not very appealing to me… but I’m still a HUGE fan of his talent. And looks…. Definitely a great actor. A very handsome man with probably the best ass in the whole galaxy and that smile of his…. Good Lord! It has always made me melt. Completely….

Warning: Image heavy! :)

Good Lord, this man ia almost 50! These were taken last year.....

mso-ansi-language:EN-US">So..... expanding our horizons a little.... :P More eye-candies soon. I do have quite a few of those…. :)

eye-candy, tom cruise
