Since we're already in June, is summer over? Or does summer really ever end in Manila? It's forever sunny here so I guess whether it's the summer or rainy season, we should always protect our skin against sun damage. I was recently introduced to
Oscar, a health insurance company in New York and New Jersey in te US. They're running an awareness campaign for Sun Safety Week and I wanted to talk about what I do when the summer season rolls around to amp up my sun protection game. You already know my summer makeup menu
here, now here are my summer skincare must haves:
Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Liquid Sunscreen with SPF 50+ - I've used this product for years! When summer season rolls around, I always switch up from using a primer to using this a base before I put on my bb cream/foundation. It's not sticky, spreads easily and sinks into the skin right after application.
Dr Jart WaterFuse BB Cream - Instead of using a regular foundation, I use my BB cream more often during summer months because it's an all in one product. It's moisturising, has spf and also provides good coverage. When my skin being good, I don't even need a concealer and just top this with a mattifying powder and that's my base done.
Spray toners - I love my spray toners! They're refreshing, revitalizing and some can even help control oil. When you've been out in the sun all day, it's good to lightly spritz this onto your face to keep your skin from being dehydrated. My newest purcase is this facial mist from & Other Stories.
Nivea Sun moisturising sunscreen lotion - Another product I purchase every summer especially when I'm heading to the beach. Laying in the sand and basking in the sun is what summer is all about but getting baked, not so much.
Lipbalm - Don't forget to hydrate your lips! I always have a lipbalm with me anyway no matter what season. I have a clear one and a tinted one for when my lipstick becomes too drying throughout the day.
Talc powder - Is it just me or when you get sunburned, it's very cooling to apply powder over it? I know there are specific powders to treat sunburn but I love the scented ones from Marks & Spencer so that's what I use.
Those are my sun protection tips and the products that I use throughout the summer season. Of course, I also bring out my sunnies to protect my eyes from the sun's glare and drink a ton of water. I probably refill that 900ml tumbler three times in a day. What are your sun protection tips? Do share!
