I don't count Essence as one of my go-to brands even though I've tried a number of products from them (posts
here). Turns out, I just haven't tried the right products. If you're looking for cheap and cheerful lip products, then go to the nearest Essence store. I have been on a nude lip color phase lately where I've been wearing nothing but nude lip products. I try to use something different in the morning but then by midday, I tend to replace it with whatever nude lip product I have in my bag (usually the Maybelline Color Drama in Nude Perfection). I wasn't really looking for a new lipstick but I ran out of my toner so I went to SM to buy a replacement when I saw the Essence stand. I went there and this color called Barely There seemed like a good 90s nude so I got it (middle product in photos 1 and 2 / bottom in swatch photo). It's basically what I more the whole of January and I featured it in my January
Product List post too.
Since I really loved Barely There, I went there again to try other colors which are Natural Beauty (left product in photos 1 and 2, middle in swatch photo) and this lip liner in Satin Mauve (top most swatch). It's no surprise that I love these both as much as I love Barely There. The Satin Mauve lip liner is a cheaper (easily accessible) dupe for Rimmel Lip Liner in Eastend Snob (a little bit more pinky than Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat in Pillow Talk) at only Php99! What a bargain. The lipsticks are also very affordable at Php209 each. I'm going back again to get more lip liners because I need more.
The lipsticks are very moisturising with a satin finish (not glossy but also not matte) and they stay on the lips a decent amount of time (4hrs without eating/drinking). With the lip liner underneath, it stayed on even when I drank tea. Overall, it's a very good product and something that I see myself repurchasing (especially the lip liner) when I ran out.
Have you tried any of the Essence lipstciks/liner?Let me know if there are other Essence lip products that I should try! Pic of me wearing the lipsticks under the cut!
