Weekend Haul: March 2014

Mar 25, 2014 10:00

Still haven't gone back to my regular posting schedule so please forgive me if the posts seem random for this week. For today's Weekend Haul, it's going to be a semi-collective haul for the month. I've posted about the NARS bits that I bought last week (read about it here) which as the title suggests is more of an impulse buy (althought I kinda knew I was gonna be buying something, it is afterall, a makeup workshop). This time, the products posted here were what I've been wanting to try for a long time or what I've been seeing in a lot of different blogs and got super curious about. The first bit is really naughty as I went overbudget. My justification is at least I didn't pay for the shipping fee! My officemate Donna went to the US and she got me these goodies:

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Diffused Light| Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in Dim Infusion | Illamasqua Cream Blush in Rude

And then last week, I got these goodies from Festival Mall:

Christine Lhuillier Peppermint Canlde and French Lime Blossom Cologne | The Body Shop Vitamin E Face Mist and Aloe Lip Care

Of course I had to try the Hourglass powders and blush. Their releases were super hyped and every one went crazy for them. They're a bit expensive so I really thought about which shades to try. In the end, I'm happy I went with Diffused Light and Dim Infusion. The bad thing is that I liked them so much I want to try more shades! Illamasqua is a brand I've always wanted to try but it's not that easy to come by. So it was really high on my list of bilins to my officemate Donna. Watch out for the reviews!

I love the Body Shop because they have affordable products that really work. I've been loving the Vitamin E oil so I wanted to try more products from the range. The mist seems to be a popular product and since I didn't have a face mist yet, it went straight to my shopping bag. The Aloe lip care is another Essie Button-influenced purchase. I have been suffering from dry lips that my Nivea Lip Butter couldn't handle so I needed something more effective. I tried it this weekend and oh my gosh, it is amazing. A full review is coming soon!

The two products I'm most disappointed about are the candle and the cologne. I got these in a little kiosk I found in the mall and since the stall looked nice, I decided to buy these stuff. The candle isn't that aromatice, my mini Alice Blue candle performs better at making the room smell minty. The glass is pretty though. The cologne on the other hand is quite weird. It smelled nice when I tried the tester but when I spray it on myself, I get dizzy. My husband says it smells nice but I cannot stand it. Good thing I bought the small bottle and not the large one. My search for an everyday perfume/cologne continues.
