Last year was when I started having fun with lip products. I bought a lipgloss for the first time and then I moved on to
lip creams and then to
lip lacquers. There are a lot of lip gloss and liquid lipstick variations out in the market today. Now I don't know if this particualr product is a new release but it's one of the things I got from my February Ipsy bag (
link). This is the Pop Beauty Plump Pout Mini in Fuchsia Freesia:
I was really excited when I found this in my Ipsy bag. I have never tried any lip product from Pop Beauty so I was curious about it. First of all, I super like this mini packaging. I don't know what the full-sized version looks like but this one is super small and flat that it takes little space in my makeup bag. The applicator is a teeny tiny thing too but that doesn't mean it's hard to apply the product. It makes the application even more precise in my opinion. The actual product is more subdued when applied on the lips. When I swatched it on the back on my hand, the colors very vibrant but when applied on the lips, it looses a bit of the pigmentation. You can't really build it up as it will then feel heavy on the lips. Still, I think the color is rather pretty. In a more subdued fuchsia kind of way. The texture is very similar to Maybelline Lip Polis/Color Elixirs (reviewed
here). It feels a bit thick on the lips when applied but it sinks into the lips and the heaviness lifts. However, since it's a glossy product, it transfers and it fades after around two to three hours (fades faster if you eat or drink).
One thing I didn't like about this product is the smell. I can't quite describe it but it smells like several chemicals mixed together. It's not pleasant. The good things is that the smell fades a minute after you apply it on your lips. However, I know some people might be super turned off by the smell. I almost didn't use it because of that! It also doesn't deliver on the plumping promise but I wasn't looking for that in this product.
All in all, this is a nice little product. Another winner from my Ipsy bag!
