The Face Shop Circle Face Brush - worth a try

I'm back!! November has been a busy month for me workwise and I guess that explains the lack of update. Weekends used to be reserved for writing posts and taking photos but these days, I mostly sleep and watch mindless tv all day (MasterChef US reruns, Cupcake Wars, etc.). I can't say I'll be posting regularly starting today, but we'll see.

Today's post is about a brush that I got about a month ago. This is the The Face Shop Circle Face Brush which is supposedly a dupe for the Shiseido Foundation Brush. I read about this brush from Eula of Eula Sleeps and so I got curious about it. I've been looking for a foundation brush to use and since this was readily available, I went to The Face Shop to get it. It was smaller and than I thought it would be but very soft and compact.

I have to be honest, when I first got this brush. I did not care for it all. I used it a couple of times and it was just really, really hard to use. I followed the instructions that came with brush and it just didn't work for me. So I put it aside and stopped using it. And then this month, I used this on myself and a few other friends who asked me to do their makeup and totally changed my mind about it

I thought long and hard about my sudden change of heart and it's probably because I stopped following the instructions and just used it however I wanted to use it. The trick is to forget about the circular motions described in the product sheet. It says to do circular motions to buff into the cheeks but I find it super small that making circular motions is just hard to do. What I did is just use swiping motions to spread and buff the foundation and then do small circular motions when buffing on the forehead and chin. It also does a good job of buffing in concealer.

A word of caution though, this brush eats up a lot of products! So to avoid that, I place a pump of foundation at the back of my hands, warm it up using my fingers and then apply the product to my face. I then use the brush to buff and spread the foundation all over. This works better than applying the foundation directly to the brush.

I still prefer applying my foundation using my hands but for days when I don't want to get my hands dirty, I reach for this face brush. It gives the same natural, skin-like effect. This is a great little brush to add to your brush collection if you don't have it yet.
