Going blondie on my lips: NYX Maple Blondie Butter Gloss

Oct 31, 2013 10:00

I've only started wearing lipgloss this year so I'm still getting the hang of having shiny, glossy lips. The recent addition to my small collection is the NYX Butter Gloss in Maple Blondie. I read in some reviews that this is supposed to be a good dupe for the Clarins lip perfectors which I've swatched a couple of times but never got to actually buying it. Haha! This one though is very affordable and so when I saw this at SM, I bought it right away.

Some people don't like scented beauty products but I don't think anyone can hate the smell of this butter gloss. It smells like cupcakes! I seriously want to lick the sponge applicator sometimes (but I don't do it, I swear). Maple Blondie is a very light baby pink color that you can apply sheer (like I do) or build up so show more opaque. When I build it up though, it gathers on the edges of my lips and I don't like the look. So I apply one swipe, then rub my lips together and then swipe again if there are pacthes. Like most lipglosses, it will not stay put when you eat or drink. But without doing those, it stays on for around four hours max. I find myself reaching for this when I do heavy eye makeup. It just brings the whole look together. I have my eye on other shades of NYX Butter Gloss line. Maybe I'll pick up some on my next visit to SM!
