The skinny on my skincare regimen

If we're friends on Twitter, you probably know that I got a facial yesterday. It's notable because I haven't gotten one in six months. I was a good girl last year as I literally go for a facial every month. But that was probably because I wanted to have good skin on my wedding day which was in December. So I was motivated  by that.

This year, life got in the way so I've neglected the state of my skin for the past six months. I had free time yesterday so I went straight to Dermstrata to get my skin sorted out. This post is not going to be about my facial experience. Haha, that's just an intro into the current skincare products that I'm roadtesting. I just wanted to say that getting a facial is all I ever do in terms of skincare. And a basic facial wash and moisturiser. That's it. I know, I should look into a proper skincare regimen and I promise to do that soon.

Last week though, before I got a facial, my skin was super problematic. I had spots, my face was oily but at the same time, my skin looks quite dull too. I needed to do something. I wasn't ready to spend a fortune on Kiehl's products (though I was sorely tempted to try their line for oily skin, ipon muna!) so I opted for a cheaper alternative.

I found this Celeteque Traveler's Basics pack in Watsons and I thought I'll give it a go. I know it's for hydration and not specifically for oily skin but I read somewhere that you produce more oil if your face is dry so maybe hydrating will solve my oil problems.

It comes with a Facial Wash, Alcohol-free Toner and Facial Moisturiser.

The ingredients. I haven't really researched about what ingredients are harmful and which ones I should be looking for. Maybe I need to invest more time in that.

First of all, these are really cute. Haha! I know it's for travelling but I just like how tiny they are. I had a problem with the facial wash as it was leaking when I took it out of the box. The cap doesn't fully close so that's not a good thing.

The only Celeteque product that I use is the pimple gel thing that comes in a small tube. I use it when I get pimples so it dries out quickly. This is the first time I've used all three products. I've been using it for a week now, but I'm not ready to give my verdict yet. I'm going to use up all of these products and then I'll decide if I'll buy the full size ones.

For first impressions though, I like the facial wash. It's very light and I love how my skin feels after using it. The toner as far as I can tell has done nothing for my oily t-zone even if I'm concetrating application on those parts. The moisturizer is just fine. Hmm, based on first impression, it doesn't look promising. But it could turn around after a few weeks. Stranger things have happened. I could end up loving it. I hope I end up loving because they are really affordable and it saves me the hassles of trying out other brands.
