An Ending for those that Deserved Them.

Michelle/David

David doesn’t want to plan anything about their wedding. He just kisses her on the cheek and tells her to pick the freesias and that if she wanted to have black bridesmaids dresses, that was fine with him. She goes with gray and her dress is summery with lace. They braid freesias into her hair in lieu of a veil and her father comes back from the countryside to walk her down the aisle. The woman (and her little half-brother) come with him to the wedding, and despite initial awkwardness, she embraces the woman with open arms. Her father is happy and the woman is smiling.

Jack is the best man, and he brings his boyfriend. She embraces him with open arms as well.

The wedding goes perfectly, down to the perfectly timed dinner courses, the photographs. Before the reception, she begged for guidance. If this was not the path god intended for her, to give her a sign. Halfway through the ceremony, a butterfly plants itself in her freesias and hours later Michelle smiles at her husband during their first dance, and the butterfly finally flies away.

SGA-1

The negotiations (or “yelling hissy fits” as Jack would call them) lasted for weeks. Teyla and Ronon had to be given every vaccination known to man, and they all had to be injected with something or other that prevented bacteria they may have carried over from the wormhole jump. Woolsey made a valiant effort, but a giant city-ship landing in the San Francisco Bay was too big to coverup. They had to go public and it definitely wasn’t pretty.

Mass Hysteria. Chaos. President Hayes was almost impeached twice, but somehow they managed to keep him in office. People were so angry, and so confused. So John did what he did best. Defied orders.

“My name is Lt. Colonel John Sheppard. And my team and I are here to answer any questions you have about the Pegasus Galaxy and Stargate travel. But first, the dangers you’ve been hearing about on the news are true. But not everyone out in the galaxy is a monster.”
Teyla went on air talking about the Athosians, about living in fear that any one day was her last. She talked about Torren and freedom and how that we shouldn’t view the world in terms of one planet or another- but as we are all creatures of the earth. Ronon talked about cheeseburgers and how fighting is only good for fighting.

Daniel Jackson’s book became the first number one bestseller years after it was first published. His credentials were restored and people were really thinking in the academic world about where we come from and where we are going. Rodney conveniently had every paper he’d ever written published on the internet five milliseconds before Carter.

He had boys from NASA calling him about inertial dampners. What did he know about them except they dampened inertia? He told them he could hold his hot dog through five thousand rotations in a puddle jumper and hung up. Everything involves talking and words that don't mean anything. He hates the bureaucracy of it.

They schedule him to speak at the Air Force Academy, and he brings a puddle jumper and the whole team. They yell at him for doing so, but he doesn't care. They can't fire him and he's not going to quit. Atlantis is his home now, and they would need to drag his body out for him to give it up. The cadets need to know what happens out there. That there is a team, a dynamic that can't be duplicated in any galaxy.

"This is Ronon, Teyla and Rodney. They're my team. And whatever happens, if we get back to the Pegasus Galaxy or not. I would die for them. I want all of you to take a nice long look around, because this is it. This is the end of your old lives. And the second you walk through that giant gate, your new life begins."

That Atlernate Reality Where Sylar Had a Kid..

Noah crossed the entry into his childhood home, gun at the ready. Rebel had just sent him a message that his father was in danger, and that he would be sending backup as soon as possible. Bennet had promised him a partner weeks ago, but she had yet to show up. Noah Bennet was like a second father to him, so he let it go. Heading up a whole division was very time consuming, and he could definitely use some help.

“Dad? You Home?” Noah Gray peeked his head around the corner- if this was bad enough to take his father down, he doubted that he would be much help. Hearing a whistling noise coming from the kitchen, he quickened his pace, heart-beating heavy in his chest. The winds were swirling around his father- obviously from whoever was in there with his father. Flour and salt whipping at his face, he used his power to deflect the objects swirling around the kitchen. Hopefully Muggles was still safe-

“You killed my parents!”

“-I’m sorry. I was a horrible, wretched person, but I’ve changed. I’ve been making amends, to help people, others like us.”

“I’m going to make you hurt, just like you made me-”

“Everyone STOP! You’re getting salt in my hair.” A blonde teenager stepped into the kitchen and everything stopped- a pound of flour dumped into the sink, and even though they were all frozen Noah saw his father’s eyes roll. They would be able to shake this off in about two minutes, but it was still interesting that someone could subdue both of them without drugs. And she was a little cheerleader. The bandit, an even younger girl had created a giant swirling vortex above the kitchen which was still swirling. And getting larger.

His father shook the hold off, just as the little vortex brat did too.

And then he was spinning and flying and falling.

His father naturally landed on his feet, whereas he, and the new girl landed in a giant heap on the floor. Noah took one glance at his new partner, and her nice figure, before remembering that he was a professional. They had obviously been sent somewhere- but where?
“Noah did you absorb her power?”

“No, I was to busying being frozen at the molecular level. I tried, so I guess we’re stuck here. I’ll try harder next time.” He snarked. They were still in Costa Verde at least. But who knows what reality they were in or what was happening-

“Rachel Harris.” The blonde stuck her hand out and they shook hands.

“This is interesting.” A voice interrupted their introduction. His father, or a different version of his father was holding Aunt Claire at mindpoint. The confusion and terror he was getting off this- Sylar was intense.

“Let her go, Sylar.” He commanded, watching amused as the doppelganger actually stopped what he was doing. He had never been able to pull one over on his father before. “Okay, can I get a picture because Bennet will never believe this happened-”

“Noah not the time.” Gabriel growled, helping Claire up off the coffee table and folding the skin of her head back together. “We’re from a different reality, Claire. We need to talk to your father.”

“You really thought that would hold me?!” Sylar growled raising his hand to-

“Die.” Rachel whispered and Sylar slumped to the floor. “Oh, don’t look at me like that he’ll wake up- I hope.”

Daniel and Vala

He was smitten. Okay maybe smitten was a bit juvenile, but the tide was definitely changing. Vala still annoyed him, yes but once where he would be frustrated, he quickly found himself with an odd feeling of endearment. He also seemed to notice her presence a lot more- she was the one magically refilling his coffee mug in the Ancient library, was with him in the infirmary after he got shot. She changed perfume, and he-

“-Jackson!”

Smiling sheepishly, he tore his gaze from where Vala was running through the field of giant daisies with Sam. It was one of their nicer missions, old Ancient outpost- with a large energy reading at a frequency similar to drones. There was also an archive of historical data, and a small weapons cache. It was the perfect mission.

“The girl’s pretty but they’re just space daisies.”

“You’re funny.” Daniel mocked, his twang not even close to Mitchell’s. “I like Vala.”

“Um. Duh. You think about this- new- revelation while Teal’c and I shoot some Ancient space guns.” Daniel got a quick pat to the back before watching Cam run over to Teal’c who had set up powerbars onto a rock. Teal’c fired the pistol-like gun and smiled.
“RononDex of the Pegasus Galaxy has a weapon similar to this one.”

“Hey.” Vala grinned, sticking one of the daisies behind his ear. He was being sentimental, he must be. And he was definitely lonely.

“-You were right.” He mumbled, grabbing the back of her head and pulling her close. Their noses touched and he leaned in closer to kiss her. It was definitely intense, like the first time they kissed but this time he was ready. And she definitely wasn’t wearing watermelon lipgloss on the Prometheus.

She pulled away from him first and he was decidedly not happy with her decision.

“Daniel- please tell me how we got into this underground cave?”

Opening one eye, he noticed their surroundings had changed. “Found the transport device.” He coughed into his radio. “Just give me- oh, uh. Three minutes.”

Quinn/Finn

Quinn pulled her trenchcoat closer around her waist, nervously checking her hair before approaching the small house. She didn’t know what drove her to this, but flying cross-country to see the woman her husband was cheating on her with seemed like the right thing to do at the time. Tracking his credit card was too easy, he had business expenses that were legitimate, but when she had gone through his briefcase there was a train ticket that went out of the city. She then traced the routes and the times, and called the taxi company and confirmed that one tall, dark-haired male always went to the same address.

Too many business trips to New York had led her here, and before she found the courage to knock the door whipped open to reveal a very familiar face. Rachel Berry (circa 2009) is glaring at her expectantly, and she suddenly feels very out of place in the shoes she got from DSW. The girl is well-dressed- too much so- for a girl her age. This cannot be a coincidence.

“You are not the hot Lacrosse Player from St. Jude’s.” The girl finally speaks.

Quinn frowns at the girl. “I hope not, otherwise you’ll be very disappointed. Is Ms. Berry in?”

“No. She’s at rehearsal. Ms. Hudson will have to do. How can I help you?”

“I’m here to confront her for sleeping with my husband.” Quinn elbows past the girl into the immaculately decorated foyer and puts her bag down. “I’ll wait.”
**
Three hours later and Quinn knows three things:
One, Man Hands had been handling her man for sometime now, if the three bastards currently running rampant in her house were any indication. There allegedly was a fourth but he was “out while Mommy’s at practice”.

Second, the girl (whose name is Cadence she finds out) is a snot, and was wearing down her patience.

Third, Rachel did not teach them how to cook- if those TV Dinners were any indication. She shooed Cadence out of the kitchen and went scrambling through the drawers to cook them something more nutritionally balanced than sodium and meat particles.

The youngest, Melody was four. She was the most bearable out of the bunch, and helped her stir at the appropriate times. It awed her, for as long as she had wanted children, he already had four. And for their Berry-ness, they were all pretty normal. As she was setting the table, the fourth came home, set his smelly gym bag down on the stairs and sat down with them.

“I called you five times, Wes.”

“Yes, Coach appreciated the page from the Principal’s office, Cady.” Wes growled, between mouthfuls of pasta and salad, “She’s not stealing the China, and she made us dinner.”

“I helped!” Melody chirped.

“And I sent the college boy home because your sister is only fifteen and he was at least 22. That’s why she’s mad.” Quinn pointed out, daintily dabbing her chin with the napkin in her lap.
Wherever the boy got his manners (She was guessing Kurt), he tells his siblings to go upstairs and they listen. Cadence was practically fuming at being treated like a child, but she stomped up the stairs with the other two.

“My mother loves my father. More than she should. More than she loves music. More than she loves any of us. And she’s hated you for- a very long time. I don’t approve of what she’s done, or how he’s lied to you, but I would take a realistic look in the mirror tomorrow and decide if you still want to be with him, if he’s always going to have this separate life.”
Quinn nodded before heading out the door.***

Rory and Jess

“Have you read the new Karlin book?”

Their first conversation in years and it’s about a book. She puts said book down and smirks. The campaign, the election is over and she starts work on Monday in the White House Press core. People on the road had been recommending books all year and she almost broke down and bought an audio book, but she thought better.

“I’m reading it right now, actually.” Rory replied, walking past the pile of books holding her lamp up and heading into the living room. It was small, but nice (thanks to the care packages from her mother and father/sisters). Grandma was also hovering nearby claiming to enjoy the patriotism.

“Good, because as his publisher, it comes highly recommended.”

“Mom mentioned the Logan situation.” Rory didn’t need to guess why he was calling “out of the blue”.

“It came up in the week long visit Cousin One, Cousin Two and Auntie Lorelai and Uncle Luke.”
Jess mocked.

Luke may have causally mentioned the visit to her ahead of time, but Sister Three and Sister Two were due next week in Washington as part of their trip across America.

Rory still felt slightly guilty that she hadn’t met her third sister yet.

“-Reading is definitely part of the family- April’s so smart- she leans more for the science stuff but I got her to read some Faulkner while she was here and I swear she’s in love. Emily wants April to go to Chilton in the fall.”

“Yeah, Grandpa sent me the email.” Rory laughed.

“I’m outside and I’d like to talk to you in person.”

“I think that can be arranged.” Rory smiled, padding over to the door. Jess looked good- older, wiser. He also apparently moving in for the week. He made three trips before stepping through the doorway and kissing her on the cheek.

“I brought some work with me. And some recreational reading.”

“I may need to charge rent for your luggage.” She joked lamely, “You mentioned Books?” He opened the largest of the suitcases and inside were about 50 paperbacks of different sizes. He handed her one from his jacket pocket Stars Hollow and told her to read it first.

“It’s the final before it goes to print. And if you’re not dating a rich boy right now, I’d love to build you a bookshelf.”
