Last weekend was a busy one, I've been pretty much preoccupied with my final project for the Blackboard course and trying to figure out how to get financial assistance for my summer term at GWU. Saturday I had Soozi come over and we went to my favorite plant nursery, Wolf Trap Nursery. There's an older French woman who runs the place who has bright blonde hair and always wears blue eyeliner. She's a lot of fun. I'm also typically enthralled with the fact that every time I go there, there's someone with an accent not of this country- or a county nearby even. This time, she had a man working for her who was an Aussie. At least, I think that's what he was, either way it was cool. I got to walk amongst pretty flowers and I bought my 4 pepper plants, 3 tomato plants, 1 zucchini plant, 1 summer squash plant, some Spaghnum Moss, and a bag of Praying Mantis eggs. That's right, they sell 'em! SOOOOO FRIGGIN' COOL! I'm truly excited about the garden this year, I seriously hope I get some of those rainbow variety peppers, it'd be so neat to have a purple pepper come out of my garden!
Sunday, after spending the day cleaning and working on homework, I went out to the outlet mall with Soozi and drooled on some Ecco shoes. I gotta say, they're expensive, but soooo worth it. It is temptation for me to go back there this weekend and spend my economic stimulus check on a few of those bad boys. In related news I'm waiting for my motorcycle riding boots to arrive. I'm not sure if the seller has even sent them out to me yet!
In sadder news, my Poppa's back in the hospital again. He broke his hip, they discovered he had a staph infection, and now the man's got tubes running in and out of him. To top all this off, my Mom's not doing so well health-wise, and she makes me worry about her.
To end this journal on a positive note, I am making sausage spaghetti tonight. Das ist alles.
