Where to start, where to start. Okay, so wedding plans are going along in the normal bumpy fashion, but they are going nonetheless. We still have all the information up on the
wedding website if you all want to check it out and make fun of us.
I've learned this semester many, many things. I took a class in hardware, and another class in Instructional Design. Guess which one I got the higher grade in? Surprisingly (and sadly), it wasn't ID. Perhaps because I'm in the field and do not actually have the time to put my instruction under such intense scrutiny, or perhaps the prof was a tart and wrote books when giving a description of what she wanted out of a project. Either way, I'm not entirely happy with that grade, but at least I'm not flunking out of grad school. Hardware I got an A. Umglaublich. On a very happy note, I have been able to relate back to random glibs of converstaion I happen to remember I heard from all my techie friends (including Dave and Lisa) and realize what the heck they were talking about at the time.
We've managed to survive the holidays without visiting family, we went to South Carolina to visit some people we knew back in high school and had a great thanksgiving. We also managed to host our own post-thanksgiving party and had a few people over for massive amounts of turkey and all the trimmings. We're both incredibly broke this holiday season and do not intend to do much in the way of anything.
Work is interesting. My department head got the position of dean, a great substitute we've had at RBMS will be taking over her classroom and I am to be her cooperating teacher for the semester as this will count as her student teaching (she will have her masters in teaching in May). I am interviewing for the position of department head in January, and apparently a few of the other department heads have already been telling my principal that it should be me in that position, but I'll believe it when it happens. Either way, at least I know that I'm kicking asses and taking names.
Today was like hitting the wall, I had nowhere I needed to be, nothing particular I needed to do, so it was kind of like hitting the wall. I do feel like I've earned my 2 week vacation this year, and I'm glad it has begun.
