My niece is 2 years and 6 months old. There are days when I can't believe that she is already 2 and a half and days when I can't believe she is only 2 and a half. I plan regular activities for us to do together and today's activity was planting impatients.
She got her gardening tools (bought at Target and they are VERY cute for only $1) and we sat down on the grass to do our planting. She quickly lost interest in putting the flowers in the ground but had loads of fun playing in the dirt and covering the poor impatients with dirt. When we were thru planting them she got to hold the hose and water the new plantings (and water herself at the same time - OY).
When she was thru watering she walked over to the plants and stooped looking at them for a while. I had walked away to turn off the water to the hose and I hear her squeal. I walked quickly back over to where she was to see what was wrong. She stood up and looked at me and said in a very excited voice "Dah*, I sawed the flowers growing and they bigger now!" She was so exicted and so pleased that I just had to give her a big hug and kiss and tell her yes, they are bigger now.

*Dah - my niece has called me Dah since she was 9 months old. She knows my name and will tell you if you ask her but whenever she is referring to me, calling me or is asked by anyone who I am she will say "Dah." :-)
