Josh's 2nd MacBook Pro

Jul 06, 2009 20:21

So yesterday, while lazily browsing the internet, the click on the trackpad stopped responding. I couldn't open any programs, click into different windows...nothing. I restarted it, still didn't work. I decide to shut off the laptop completely and let it "rest" overnight and during the day while I was at work. I got home and turned it on, and still nothing.

So, I take it to the Apple store where they confirm something is definitely wrong. The manager, who was the one helping me tells me that because I didn't keep the box it came in, I'd have to bring it back when I've made an appointment, and perhaps have it sent out to get repaired. He plays around on it some more and then takes it to the mac genius bar and starts typing stuff on his computer. I have no clue what he's doing, but assume theres no way I'm walking out of there with a working computer.

Next thing I know he's bringing a new MacBook Pro from the back. He removes the new laptop from the box and places it on the counter. He takes the old MacBook Pro and places it in the box. He does some switcharoo with the serial numbers and wha-la, he hands me a brand spanking new laptop.

So boo for a broken laptop, but yay for a way cool and inventive manager willing to help me out.

Sweeeet!
