The Backstory

At the beginning of December Josh and I had decided to go look at some rings, just to get an idea of what I liked, etc. We went in, and found one we loved, and before we knew it we were filling out a credit application and bringing home a ring.

Now, even though we weren't technically engaged, I knew the ring would be coming soon and I started planning. My mom and sisters came with me to the Bridal Expo in January, I started looking up places online, came up with a general "theme" for the wedding, AND about a month ago, even bought a dress.

At this point, we have already picked out our invitations and will be putting down a deposit for a wedding location in just a few weeks.

Needless to say, I was still waiting for the proposal.

Well, it happened last night.

I had come home after work to get ready for the gym, and while I was running out the door I told Josh to take some chicken out to defrost, for our Chicken and Pasta dinner that I've been meaning to make. He says that Panda sounds a lot better. Being on Weight Watchers, and knowing that Panda is a gazillion points, I say no, that I can't have it, but he pushes further, asking me what I'd do if Panda just happened to be waiting for me when I got home. I give in and tell him what I want.

A few hours later I get home and see that Panda is sitting on the table waiting. So we eat, watch TV, just pretty normal stuff. I finish my meal and Josh reaches in the bag and pulls out the fortune cookies. I noticed the wrapper was a bit weird, and not the normal Panda Express wrapper, but I push the thought aside and go about my business.

I crack the cookie open and I read half of the fortune, which reads "Will you", and continue to pull it all the way out to reveal "marry me?". I turn to Josh and he has the ring out. We kiss and I believe I say something to the effect of "Finally!"

(I only have the solitaire right now, but thats what it'll look like once we get married!)

He gets down on one knee and I just start crying, which isn't helped by the fact that Josh is starting to tear up as well. Of course I said yes!

He later revealed to me that the camera had been set up and was recording us from the second that I had gotten home, and caught me stuffing my face with panda and burping like a mad man. So, thats awesome.

So there you go folks, there it is.

The date should be, if no one else books the location for the same time, on May 2, 2010. Yaaay.
