So I went to the doctor’s this afternoon.

I’ve not been in quite a long time - I’ve been happy on my amitriptyline for about 18 months, getting a few migraines, but nothing major. Except that lately we’ve noticed that my pulse is pretty high...like about 120 resting. Hmm.

I hadn't even finished telling my GP before she was printing off a referral letter, and I then spent an hour in A&E with my boobs out, having ECGs and having several nurses and doctors poking and prodding and not knowing what to do with me. They had to turn the alarm off on the machine, because it kept going off to alert them that my pulse was racing. Duh!

Since nothing else was untoward, they've told me to go back to my GP.

I suspect, since tachycardia is a known side-effect of amitriptyline, she'll be suggesting I stop taking it.
Bring on the padded cell then... :S
