(no subject)
It's 5am on a Monday; this can mean only one thing:
I've been up all night and will doubtless get incredibly sleepy around mid-morning and thus will have to fight pretty hard to avoid losing the whole day to the duvet... But I'm feeling good for it so far, so I can't complain!
This weekend has seen rather more activity (and alcohol...) than I've been used to of late, and it's all left me quite chipper! On Saturday we had a visit from our first potential Dave Replacement tenant since I started advertising the room back in January. Since then, he's confirmed that he definitely wants to move in, so I'm just waiting on a deposit before I can breathe a huge sigh of relief that we won't have to cope without rental-income in March! He's a nice lad, only 19 and leaving home for the first time, so hopefully won't have picked up too many bad habits yet! I've been really impressed with how polite he is, both in his emails and in person - it's such a rare thing these days. So we're hopeful that it'll work out, and that he'll move in on March 1st.
Saturday evening was spent in the wonderful company of
thefluffyfae and
gothicmissy. We met up in Bacchus and before we knew it we'd been nattering for hours! We wandered back to Lou's for further wine consumption (and I wasn't at all squiffy, honest guv!), pizza and Batman Begins with her lovely chap
roguesolo. I'm not quite sure what the kitties thought of we two strangers invading their abode, one smelling of dog and one of rabbit - I suspect the combination was a little confusing for the poor things! It was so lovely to meet new friends, especially when we have so much in common, and I hope we'll be able to get together again soon :)
Sunday was spent mostly nursing a hangover, and in the evening we wandered over to the AMC for Hot Fuzz, which was bloody fantastic, before heading home for the weekly dose of Supernatural and Lost, before attempting in vain to sleep.
It's going to be a busy week too, with job-hunting, an interview, visits to the doctor for me and the vet for Daffodil (nothing nasty, just a check up and to get some advice as to how one goes about putting one's heifer of a bunny on a diet, short of just stopping feeding her!),
happy_dravya's court case and preparing for the departure of one tenant and arrival of another... Still, the big wire pen I ordered for the animals should be arriving today, so at least I can intersperse the jobs with playtime for the bunnies and piggies in the garden!
But, since I intend to start the week as I intend to go on, I'm going to go and find tea :)
