Snow! and Bunnies! and a long overdue update...

Feb 08, 2007 23:09

Yay, today has been a fun day :)
Andrew booked the day off as holiday when he saw the weather forecast yesterday (not because he's a wuss, but because a 40-mile commute in crappy traffic is never fun, and, more importantly, it's nice to have an excuse to stay home and play!), so he had a lovely long lie-in with me, before making tea patiently whilst I spent far too long on the phone to the RSPCA - long story, I'll get there in a minute!
This afternoon, we played in the snowy garden with Endora and Tiberius (and
happy_dravya ) before building a snow-bunny!

Not the best quality, but they're only phone-pics!

...and this evening we entertained Emily for dinner, which is always lovely! :)

It hadn't been a great week until today, I've been hormonal and (separately) not the most cheerful of people, and I've been sleeping far too much, but today my hormones and my mood turned a corner and I'm looking forward to a busy-ish weekend. Tomorrow afternoon we're heading down to my parents', and I'll be there for the day on Saturday whilst Andrew attends a training course that he hopes will help him pass his police re-assessment. I'm looking forward to seeing my sister, who plans to visit my parents too. I've felt so out of reach whilst she's been ill, it'll be good to give her a hug and tell her in person how bloody cross I'll be if she pushes herself to go back to work before she's properly better! And of course it's always fab to see her little girl - she remembers watching me play my flute when she came up a few months back, and talks about it any time my mum mentions me to her, so I'll take my flute down with me and my mum and I can give her a little concert of nursery rhymes :)

On Sunday morning we're going to collect somebody very special. Ok, we don't *need* another... but I couldn't let her languish in Walsall whilst we have the space and ability to give her a good home. Apparently she's put some weight on since the picture was taken...madam certainly likes her food :) Adopting from the RSPCA is more complicated than you'd think, although it's no bad thing that they make sure their charges are going to good homes. We had a visit from their inspector on Tuesday, who quizzed me for half an hour about rabbit-care; it's a good job I know my stuff!

The job front isn't looking great; I've heard nothing from the guy who interviewed me a couple of weeks back for that French company (not even a response to the answerphone message I left him asking what was happening), so I'm assuming I've not got the job. Quite honestly, I think even if they did offer it to me now, it'd be silly of me to accept a position working with the kind of disorganised/impolite people who wouldn't bother to pick up the phone when they said they definitely would let me know either way. So I'm still looking. I've contacted a couple of people who want leaflets delivering, just to get me vaguely out of the house and active, and to bring in some cash until something more sensible shows up... I guess we'll see :/

In other news:

allybaggins I swear I've not forgotten you - I'm crap, but there's something I need to dig out and it wasn't where I thought it was...

solindiges I feel for you hon... I can't believe that referencing thing, I bet you were in the right. I have little faith in Places of Higher Education (TM) and have witnessed their general ineptitude on many occasions. It's tough to keep your determination going, but I know you'll do what's right for you in the long run, and screw anyone who can't see how great you are! (That was an exclamation, btw, not an instruction ;) )

Katie, if you're reading this, did you get my letter hon? Hope you're ok x

Notes on a Scandal is really rather good, although I feel guilty for not having read the book first. Hannah's cross because the novel she's writing shares a similar theme, and now she looks all un-original!

Going to bed now!

*phew* - sorry for the epic! :P
