This past weekend was the target weekend for my sanity. In one weekend all of the important yearly military requirements for my enlistment must be completed. It was also the last weekend of indoor and an important work deadline for Mike. It is all over now. Horray!
This weekend I passed my PT test and my weight was found to be within army standards. Once again I have choosen not to attend PLDC but signed on my AAR that I can be considered for promotion. It seemed rather counter-intuitive until this new policy allows people to be promoted without the class. I still have no desire to become a segeant, however. I am proud of who I am right now and don't want to become someone I am not.
Mike's work deadline was here and gone, but the project was not finished yet. His team has gotten an extention and rumor has it that they might be diminishing the mandatory work time to 40 hour weeks instead of 50 hour weeks. He will also be free on weekends now so that we can have some quality time together. I am so happy that we will see each other more than 2 or 3 hours a day. We have planned a trip to Niagra Falls the first weekend of May in order to celebrate and get away from everything that has been crazy lately.
These major stressors in our lives have been playing havoc with our health and happiness. Now that we are closing that chapter I only hope that we will be able to keep the time open for each other. There are still a lot of things we would like to do, we just have to remember that there is a limit and that limit is a lot smaller now that we have to commit time to each other.
