Johnny Weir is taking a year off ...
So Johnny has finally given an official statement and he is indeed taking this season off, but he says he'll be back for the 2011-2012 season and still dreams of Russia in 2014.
Lots of people don't seem to think he'll be back, but I wouldn't be surprised if he does return and better than ever.

This is a link to his statement and he sounds very positive and as if he is looking forward rather than back, which is good. I hope his skating reinvention goes well and his off ice exploits take him where he wants to go.
Actually I think Evan will announce next and they're actually off to make a little love nest somewhere for a while before they get back to the whole skating thing ;)
