I can't find anything in Vista.
My new work machine is 64bit and hence has to be Vista and I like the feel of the interface, but I can't find anything. Also, I have blue screened of death it once already (this is the second full day I've tried to use it) - should I be worried do you think?

64 bit so it has to be okay for RAM, yes? Like 4 gigs? It must, right ( ... )

about the graphics: that's what I heard too, and that cpu companies are now starting to divide the processor into a graphic processor and an actual 'functional' one, just to be able to cope with the heavy graphics of Vista & whatever is to come.

I haven't tried Vista yet, but I liked this cartoon about it: http://xkcd.com/528/
:D
sorry I can't be more of help!

I haven't bluescreen yet (been a year) had problems finding stuff, but am fine - I went from a Powerbook g4 to a Amlio laptop and so was probably a bit more 'ooh shiny'. Most of my problems from the laptop have been the computer 'losing' the wifi card, and my CMOS battery slowly dying which hopefully I can get replaced next pay - am out of warrenty so have to pay.

But also repeating the offer to help find things.

I hate Vista. And the system has so many interfacing issues that a few months ago when my firm bought all new computers for everyone in all the offices (seriously something like 300 computers) the IT department sat down and removed Vista from every single one of them and installed XP. That's a lot of work, but they felt it was better to do that than to spend the next two years running around like rabbits trying to fix all the issues that kept cropping up with the two test machines they ran for a few months.

Vista is the reason why I have not upgraded my home comp or Angelica's laptop. The IT guy at work discussed it with me when I had fears that the laptop was dying and I might need to upgrade/get a new one that he'd be willing to uninstall Vista and reinstall XP if I did get a new one. I've heard too many horror stories about it.

*clings to XP like whoa*

Ugh I HATE Vista!

I've been using it at work for nearly a year and I STILL can't find certain things, lol Of course I had to use it with the latest version of Microsoft office as well, and everything is moved around just enough that at first, things that took me seconds were now taking me 10 minutes because I couldn't find the bloody menu I needed.

I know few people who actually like Vista. I'm hoping I won't need a new home computer until they come out with something new. Either that, or I'm going to put Windows XP on instead. :P

Good luck!
