Connor had given up Christmas wishes when he was thirteen and decided it was too babyish, but the Christmas after Nick died he made one. When he had lost Nick he had lost part of his soul and he hadn't understood until it had happened.
Christmas magic didn't work, he was sure of that, right up until the moment an anomaly opened and Nick stepped out and demanded to know why everyone was staring at him.
He didn't think about timelines or what could have happened, he just walked up the Nick and shut him up by kissing him soundly.
