A very, very good weekend. Almost relaxing, even.
We invaded Adam and _notanartist_'s condo (twice) to make sure Guinness and Inca were still alive and play large amounts of Wii. Boom Blox is a hilarious game and, like all great games, is as much fun to lose (big explosions!) as it is to win.
We got Burning Man supplies. Crossed off the list is a new sleeping bag and inflatable mattress. Still need to get a camp kitchen and a new screen house.
Visited the Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibition. Sighed over and coveted a large number of beautiful art glass objects that I can never hope to own, due to one very manic and evilly destructive Scrawny Cat. But I could admire them in the sunlight for an afternoon at least. And we found some lovely new ceramic beer mugs.
Had templier over for dinner, wine and games. Dinner was venison chops from a friends parents farm, with blackberry demi-glace, potatos roasted in duck fat and fresh asparagus, paired with a lovely Niagara region Shiraz, followed by a bumbleberry bundt cake and whipped cream, paired with a raspberry wine.
AND, with a lot of help from templier, I mastered the three beat weave that has been the bane of my poi-spinning practice for the last month. And there was much rejoicing and gleeful bouncing around :) Next up, the three beat weave backwards, and learning to transition between the two.
I'm not doing so great in my whole quest to balance activities and busy-ness with down time and rest, but I'm having a great time not doing it.
