Truth to tell, I wouldn't trust ANY government with this sort of technology, especially were it to be refined. The creep factor's just too damn high. :P

The 'creep-factor' is so high I don't know that I can get my emotions around it!! :/

Some of the creepiness surely comes from the "We don't know exactly why this works but we're doing it anyway!" vibe. Didn't they also once let people get showered with DDT, claiming it was perfectly safe?

I know Michael Chrichton has written extensively (and largely innaccurately) on that latter subject. Not sure why he feels compelled to pimp the company line. I don't buy the "but think of all the people it could have saved!!" argument. If DDT has an established environmental footprint (and it does, reams of scientific data to support that), and said footprint by dint of damaged ecosystems and contaminated water would claim lives, in addition to known health effects on humans, how can you extrapolate the number of people DDT would have "saved" and claim that figure as a legitimate statistic? How is that not pulling a number out of the air?

Not sure what got me on that little rant. Sorry. :P

This sounds very nausea-inducing. :P

As for trusting the BA with this technology? I sure wouldn't.

Creepy, innit? Most first-person-shooter games already make me nauseous. I don't need help to make me more seasick!

Dude, you don't want to hear that sort of argument and you know it. Don't ask for it, because those idiots will start to arguin' with you (...and me and everyone else). Quite honestly, no one can (or should) be trusted with the remote control. Period.

So there.
