Battle of the Bands

I'm not sure why we're listening to this CD except that Lyndon loves it. I must say, that it's a bit soft for me, but it's still Ash, and I'll even buy his next album. Lyndon and I both agree, however, that he would do much better in Britain than in America. There's more of a market for this kind of music.

We went to the Battle of the Bands last night. They were competing for the opportunity to play in the Jerseylive festival in September. I really liked this one band, The Oks. It's a band from Dublin. They are friends of this guy I work with (who is also a DJ and from Dublin) and Lyndon has sung with them before. Anyway, I was pleasantly surprised. They made it through, thankfully, so I'll get to hear them some more in September if we manage to snag tix to the festival.

Some of the other bands had good songs, but there were none that I really, really liked except for The Oks. There was a band called Tramp Sinatra that had a violin player, which I thought was cool. I liked Omerta. I liked one song by The Author. Yeah... And The Fratellis, The Rakes, and Kasabian are all headlining. I was so hoping for Snow Patrol or The Arctic Monkeys like last year. I didn't get to go last year. It's super hard to get tix and stuff. But I definitely want to go this year. And it's about time that I get into the local British music scene. I mean, seriously, I've been here a year and this was my first show. What is wrong with me?
