The film follows a rather predictable path for this franchise, a collection of misfits, selected as they are all the most proficient killers in their field are literally dropped into the story. All the action takes place in the jungle, and as the film progresses, they mostly die, one by one, in various ways.
Adrian Brody had buffed up for the film to take the action hero lead, a man with a six pack but no conscious. Strange seeing him in the role, normally a man confined to be a supporting actor in a romantic film.
Laurence Fishburne and his imaginary friend make a short appearance, the survivor of a previous group, sent in to challenge the predators.
There’s a tip of the hat to the other films, such as aliens and some noticeable lines you could almost hear Arnie saying, “Do it now’. My favourite, however is something Laurence says when he first meets, what remains of the group, “You need to be quiet, they can hear you miles away. And you smell, I’ve been smelling you since you got here”.
If you like action films, go see it. It has a few twists to make it not entirely predictable.
