In your corner of the world, are people getting less and less tolerant?

I have a baby-boomer theory on that but too hungry for now, Ciao!

Not that I've noticed. The opposite in my hearing range. Hope if there are problems there they get worked out fairly quickly, because if Sarah Palin gets elected I'm moving in.. :D

haha! I still have my too big house I will sell ASAP, maybe I should keep it and start some commune when Palin will make us have nightmares...
Did you know that I lived in some kind on commune for three years? two houses, four adults and my two sons who were infants, all the expenses and earnings in the same pot. It was pot that killed the project. After that we were two families living in the same house, three adults and four children for another three years. it was kind of cool, she left when she found Prince Charming.

Cool! I used to live in a commune on the beach, (where else) in Virginia Beach in the very early 70s. We had both pots ;) and the music was always unplugged. It was one of the best times of my life. I almost ran off with a new zealander with a sexy accent. Soon after, I almost hitchhiked to the other coast with a bunch of new age organic vegans, who were a rare breed at the time. That's when Bob showed up.

I knew it would hit something ;)

I'm ok with pot, but I didn't want the kids to grow and consider pot smoke as some standard smell. I come from a bum family and link between drugs and mental health is not always positive, so i wanted to have a head start. Pot and ADD doesn't mix well :p

I agree. There's not a whole lot that pot does mix with well. But it was 1970, and while I never did smoke anything, I also didnt do the cooking or baking. So who knows? It was a great experience. I spent a few months looking up references in the Edgar Cayce library for a doctor who was writing a book about osteopathy.

But communal living is decidedly difficult unless everyone is on the same wavelength. Bob and I eventually got an apartment right on the ocean where there were no pots of any description. Just a few pans. :)
