Continuing my quest to taste every type of fruit sold at the Berkeley Bowl, I grabbed one of these a few days ago. They were quite common in Thailand, though i never managed to try one, and they are actually native to South America. Cactus fruit. The have the texture of a good kiwi with more noticeable seeds, and are pretty flavorless. What flavor there is is mildly kiwi-like, although without even a hint of sourness.
