Some past lunches

Many thanks to luh3417_au who posted this entry a while ago, I finally got my lazy bum to Smith St. (of Melbourne) and bought this cute kerokeroppi obento. Actually it was for hubby but it turned out to be way too small for him.

So during an IKEA trip, I managed to snag this black & red oval ones but psst, they are actually a food-grater set, yup they come with metal graters to fit on top of each. But these days I think of obento whenever I see things like this.  And I also don't buy real food anymore, instead I buy some cookie-cutters, egg rings and cute looking chocolates/snacks that can be put into the bento. HELP! IT'S AN ILLNESS!!  I'm sure everyone here is just too familiar with it ...   =p

Here's what I put in his (from left to right):  Bean rice salad, Swedish ginger thin, Cherry chocolate, cut half apple, shaped fried-egg and ham, round-flat onigiri (two types: plain and with umeboshi furikake), blanched cabbage+bell pepper+pumpkin.

And mine (the same).  Here you can see the fried-eggs clearer.  This post inspired me to try my own with egg rings and cookie-cutters.  But as you can see, they didn't come out very well.  It was a big mess.

But it was good fun all around and definitely quite yummy!  Thanks for looking, guys and gals!
