BACKGROUND: Doumeki started off life no different then an average child. Going to school, making friends, and enjoying the carefree day's of youth. It wouldn't be until he was 14 that he would notice he was different from the rest of his class. It happened when he was at the school's kyudo, archery, practice. Having finally gotten done with the instructor's lesson, the students were finally allowed to start practice. Being the first day it was to be a simple exercise, merely stringing the bow and getting a feel for pulling it back and getting the correct tension on the string. As Doumeki pulled back the string and lined the imaginary arrow to the target, upon the string's release a ethereal green arrow flew forward. When the arrow came into contact with the target, an explosion seemed to appear out of no where, leaving nothing both smoldering wooden remains.
Looking on in somewhat horror, the teachers and students could only stare from the boy to the destruction. Dropping his bow, Doumeki would bolt from the school grounds not stopping until he had reached his home. By this time, the school had already phoned home attempting to get answers out of the parents as to what happened. Locked alone in his room, he would be subjected to furious pounding on the door, and bewildered yelling from his parents. The coming days in school would be no better, as word had already spread. Former friends, had abandoned him for fear that he would somehow blow them up and meet the target's fate. This would unfortunately start to be the decline of the boy's social life.
Unable to deal with the threats from concerned parents, and having a feat that their own son was a danger to them. Doumeki's parent's were left with no choice but to ship him off to his Grandfather Haruka's shrine in Kyoto. While, many saw Doumeki's ability as a problem Haraku saw it as a gift. Haraku himself had been known as a exorcist in his prime, and saw this as Doumeki's way to carry on the legacy. Haraku would go on to help Doumeki learn to control his powers, allowing him to start over again at Cross Private High School.
At Cross Private School, Doumeki had kept his sheltered personality. Remaining distant, he would start to draw attention to himself, with the whole stoic routine. Having learned to keep his powers under wraps, he had also lent his natural archery talent to join their club as well. Life had been starting to look up again for Doumeki, and he even began starting to meet people with "odd" quirks like himself, like Watanuki and Himawari.
Though no tale seemed to have a happy ending for Doumeki, as his grandfather would succumb to illness only two years later. Haraku had begun looking into finding others with such odd powers as Doumeki had. One contact he made, had mentioned a group called the Shinigami located in Japan with many other unique individuals. This meeting had given Haraku insight into a school located in New York. Leaving behind specific instructions upon his death, a friend of Haraku's informed Doumeki of the school and sent him on his way to the airport, to start over again at the Xavier Institute.
PERSONALITY: Doumeki is what appears to be the polar opposite of Watanuki. While, Watanuki is a complete spaz and flails around at every slight change, Doumeki tends to remain calm and collected. Over confident and sarcastic, he hardly backs down from any challenge presented before him despite the cause. Doumeki comes off as as a bit of a bully at first. His sarcastic tone and deadpan sense of humor don't really come off as friendly. It doesn't help either that he prefers to keep to himself instead of going out and mingling with others.
Though his distant demeanor hasn't kept him from making friends. Watanuki, while found to be loud and idiotic, is likely Doumeki's best friend. Sure they fight, have disagreements, and even claim to dislike each other they both have a bond deeper then either can imagine. Doumeki is somewhat crafty as well, in his attempts to get impossible bento box lunches made. He uses a unique blend of taunts and charging for his help to get Watanuki in debt. Essentially, he can also get along with many other people, if they can handle his unique way of looking at situations.
Another talent Doumeki has picked up his observation skills. While remaining on the sidelines and quiet he tends to pick up subtle ticks people have. It's really showcased in how Doumeki learns the way to enter the Wish Shop, can only be done by those who need to make a wish. He also picks up on the issue that Himawari emits bad luck on those around her. This explains why he constantly pops up to keep tabs on her and Watanuki.
A trait he also shows through out the manga is his loyalty. When push comes to shove, Doumeki is there to stand by his friends. Regardless of how sever the consequence, Doumeki is willing to give life and limb to protect those close to him. When Watanuki's eye gets eaten by the Spider Queen, Doumeki gives up half his eyesight in exchange to allow them both to have some sight. Again, when Watanuki falls from the school's 3rd floor window; Doumeki gives his blood in an exchange to keep him alive.
APPEARANCE: Doumeki, is fairly tall and lanky for his age. He's got short black hair with Golden eyes, the right being paler then the other. His clothing is mainly a stock Japanese school uniform, that comes in black.
POWERS: Energy constructs. Doumeki has the ability to use the energy around him, to create arrows. These can work similar to a regular energy blast in which they explode upon contact, or have a more solid form basis.
