Beauty and the Beast (now satiated by Tortilla Soup)
Yay for leftovers and Campbell's Select. Heretofore, my culinary expertise shall exist purely through the efforts of others that do all the work for me!

Speaking of Gotham, check out this new poster for the Dark Knight. I absolutely REFUSE to watch anymore DK trailers. I might as well download the movie already if I'm going to that. Only one more week and half to go. Also, midterms are next week and I haven't read a thing yet GAH!. Midterms: 7/17, DK: 7/18 or 7/17 at midnight!
I bought The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay by Michael Chabon (who also wrote Wonder Boys - yes, the one the film by the same name is based on). I'm only about seven pages into it -- but it reads pretty well, if I can even qualify to make an opinion considering I've read so little. There's a film slated to come out next year. That's not why I'm read, btw. Nor is it b/c it was Seth Cohen's favorite work of fiction, no. Actually the cover of the book is what did it for me: it caught my attention. Ah! the genius of marketing. I had actually heard of The Escapist (nothing to do with the movie!) comic book hero while researching escapism (yes, I'm that much of a geek), since I'm a fan of the concept and I read that the book was worthwhile, so there's that. So, now I'm reading it and well, it's better than Twilight. :wink: What isn't, eh?
Which reminds me, I saw In the Land of Women yesterday --partly to see if Kristen Stewart could act (she can't) and partly to see if Adam Brody could play any part other than Seth Cohen (he can...sort of). I also saw the first half of Wanted. But comments to come on that at a later date, if I even get to finish the movie.
ALSO: want to watch The Wackess. It got good reviews on both Slate and Salon (I know, I know Salon :gasp: one of the horsemen of the apocalypse...who knows?) Even if it didn't, I still would have watched it. The trailer intrigues me just as much as it makes me cringe -- plus Josh Peck is in it (lock up your daughters lolz.). In Josh Peck I trust, and really shouldn't we all. I lurve Biz Markie in the bg of the trailer; it makes me smile. But speaking of wackness, what's with Mary Kate (Mary-Kate?) Olsen in EVERY trailer. I've heard that she's only in maybe all of one scene, if that. Maybe she was placed (lolz, MaK product placement) in an attempt to make the film more hipster-friendly....maybe.
In other news, Giant panda survived quake, now gives birth to twins. Aw, yes cute cuddly panda mom gives birth to baby shrimps, I mean oops, and does anyone else think Shichuan sounds too much like Szechuan? Oh no! There's been an eathquake in Szechuan...quick bring out your chickens! :D
