Rayn is Dead
This is Trebor, Rayn's primary partner.
I'm so sorry to those of you who are finding out this way. Everyday I remember more people to call. I hope that this post reaches those I haven't contacted and answers questions for those that have them.
The title says it all but here are the details;
On February 4th (my birthday) we celebrated with a small amount of heroin. (It mixed with his bi-polar meds) We went to Elmer's with a few friends and got dessert- he had cheesecake with strawberries. We came back home and the gathering dissipated. Rayn fell asleep on my bed while I was working on the computer.
I noticed he stopped breathing immediately, called an ambulance and checked his pulse which stopped beating before the medics arrived. They were able to get his heartbeat back after 20-30 minutes.
Rayn was kept at Adventist hospital critical care until Friday the 8th. The staff was phenomenal and truly did everything in their power. The neurological report showed that there was little we could do. Friday morning we took him off life-support. He died later that afternoon.
He was cremated immediately- the embalming process freaked him out. We will be holding services in Eugene sometime in the next 2-4 weeks. Planning is still in the skeletal stages. I'll keep everyone posted, here, and otherwise. I hope to hold another memorial party in Portland- maybe on his birthday (April 27th)?
He was the only person I knew who wanted to be burned alive- as a performance piece. Instead, he went out peacefully, in a good mood, on a good day, in a good time of his life, loving and knowing he was loved.
