Five Months Later...

It's been 5 months on the job at KEZI, plus 3 days. It's been a long five months, but I'm blown away that I"m almost a quarter of the way through my contract. Since july, I've done countless stories that've aired on tv, and I'm starting to feel like I'm growing as a journalist. Well, at least as someone who "covers the news." There really isn't much journalism involved in a small market. It's mostly covering press releases that drop early in the morning and providing a visual medium for people to understand them. It kind of sucks, big time. But occasionally (once a week?) I get to do something that puts a smile on my face.

Wow, five months. Three months since I moved to Coos Bay. The time's gone much quicker than it ever did in Eugene, but it feels like it's been taking forever. Every 8 hours feels like 8 days. Every week feels like a month. But I have to keep telling myself... wow, some people don't even have jobs in their field yet! Let alone in tv... that's an even more ridiculous statistic, considering only 3 of us from my graduating class have found one.

Anyway, I've been updating my blog more often on myspace than I have been on livejournal, obviously. I tend to complain a lot about work, which I know is not really going to garner much of a comment... although I know people like to hear how I'm doing, so I'll try to make this something a bit more common.

But anyway! Yeah. I'll be back (hopefully!) this weekend for a bit. Soooo....
