my friend ahmed [above] approached some of us about starting a Clemson Amnesty International chapter a while ago,
and we had our first big meeting tonight after like a month+ of planning.
we're all really excited because about 90+ people showed up,
including the 15 or so of us already involved.
that's dr. may, a philosophy professor i had freshman year.
he gives the most amazing lectures and he talked briefly tonight
about the importance of human rights watchdog type groups like amnesty.
i wish i had a recording of what he said; it presented the idea so brilliantly.
anyway, it was cool.
and now chris and i get to do PR for pretty much all future endeavors... eeeeeek.
but for now...
