I've only had one class so far and I already have two quotes from the most cynical bastard in the English Department: Dr. Michael Filas. This guy is the man...
"This book...(produces Ginsberg's 'Howl'). This was in the back pocket of every hippie before they took off all their clothes and rolled around in the mud."
"Bush is...mildly illiterate. This man makes up words on the spot. I'm sure you've heard him say 'nuke-ular.' His cabinet goes up to him and says, 'Mr. President? I believe it's pronounced 'New-clear.' And Bush says, 'Well, that's just going to be one of my eccentricities.' And of course, he's the one fucker who can press that button...(makes horrified face and pantomimes the launch of a nuclear warhead)."
This guy reminds me of a slightly more cynical version of myself. We're gonna get along just fine. My next class is Journalism II with Dr. Gregg Neikirk himself. Two quotable professirs in one day! WHERE IS YOUR GOD NOW?!
In a nutshell, life is going fairly well, and Janice's present of Dr. Who Season 1 came in, so I do believe we shall spend tonight watching it.
