Untitled (short story)
Suzy is a sixteen year old junior,who's active in sports and musicals. She's also on the student council. Her boyfriend is Matt, now that boy is the star quarterback for their high school team and wll also be a senior this year and is known to get around.
Suzy hears stories about him all the time but never believes them. She asks him about them and he denies all of them, she trusts him so yeah she believes him. Matt promised her he'd never hurt her in any ways. He's the party type so every weekend he goes out and parties while Suzy will go to parties every so often. Matt's always around the girls and Suzy's always around the guys so she doesn't let that get to her.
One day in school Suzy goes up to Matt about another "rumor" and this time he admits it. She breaks down crying asking him how he could hurt her like this. He kept saying how sorry he was and he never meant for it to happen. He told her he didn't want to break up, he swoe nothing like that would ever happen again. She told him it was over and she didn't want to talk to him for a while.
Days went by and Matt couldn't get over what he had done. He kept looking at her the same way he had when they were dating. Matt tired so many time sto talk to her but she never said anything back. He hurt her so ad that he couldn't get over it. He told himself he wouldn't go to another party. He wanted her back so bad. He was goin to get her back. He loved her so much and all he could ever think about was her.
Suzy looked at him and saw how he still looked at her the same way he used too. She could see how much he was hurting without her, that look in his eye hurt her too knowing she wasn't with him. She saw how all the girls surrounded him but he told them all to leave him alone. He just kept walking past all the girls. He barely talked to any of his friends it seemed. Suzy wanted to be with him so bad but she didn't want to get hurt again.
Suzy finally went to talk to him after over a month of no talking. She saw the smile on his face when she said hello to him. He asked her how she was doing and she replied that she was not too good. She told him how much she had missed him and he told her how much he had missed her. She told him that they should start over as friends and let things heat up from there.
The next night they went to a dinner and movie. Suzy and Matt had a great night together. They took things slowly just so they wouldn't rush back into things to fast. Suzy couldn't figure out why she broke things off over a month before. Suzy loved Matt so much and Matt loved her a lot too. That night he dropped her off at home and went straight to his house instead of going to a party like he usually did before when they were dating.
Matt came to an intersection, he stoppped and waited fo the light to turn green. The light turned green and he started to turn left when he was hit by an oncoming car that came out of nowhere. Matt was thrown out of the car and was knocked unconcious upon impact with the ground.
The driver of the car that hit Matt was his best friend who was on his way home from a party and was driving drunk. The driver got out of the car and saw Matt lying on the ground. He started screaming and people were coming out of their houses to see a young teenage boy on the ground not moving. One lady went back in and called 911. Suzy heard the sirens go off so she went to her vehicle to go see what was happening. She saw the ambulance then she saw Matt's pick up. She jumped out of her car and saw the paramedics surrounding a body on the ground, then she saw Matt's best friend with the cops.
Suzy went to talk to Rob and asked him what happened. All Rob could say was how sorry he was so then Suzy turned around to see that the body on the ground was Matt's. Paramedics were trying to get him concious and after about ten minutes they got him talking and moving a little again and when he opened his yes the first thing he asked was where Suzy was.
Suzy got past the police and went by Matt's side. He told her he loved her and when he got out of the hospital they were going to get away by themselves for a few days where they could be alone. Suzy, crying, asked an officer if he would move her vehicle so she could go to the hospital with Matt and he agreed to do it. Suzy got in the ambulance and went to the hospital with Matt. They took Matt to the ER where they looked him over and saw that his leg and arm were broken. Other than those two breaks, they told Suzy he'd be out by the end of the week.
Suzy went to school during the day and stayed with Matt at night. They talked all night, then one night Matt asked if she knew who hit him and she told him it was his best friend Rob. Then Matt asked her if she knew what happened to him and she said she didn't know.
Matt got out of hte hospital that friday and Suzy and him went away for almost a week. Now those two are dating again and Matt hasn't drank since after they broke up over a year ago. Matt and Suzy are happier than ever now and are planning on getting an apartment together next fall when Suzy starts college. They still take their relationship one day at a time because they don't know if they might lose one another someday.
