saturday's party

Oct 25, 2004 23:40

well everyone else who was there has posted something about it, so now I guess it's my turn.

Saturday was wild. Party was supposed to start at 6:00, by which time I was supposed to have all the food cooked. Note the phrase "supposed to". That morning we still hadn't decided, so I called my mom and got her shepherd's pie recipe. Put that together, after making a cheesecake with the rum butter crust.

I left to go get some suction cups to finally get that damn flower made of rope light to stick up in the window. It's a good thing too, because apparently that's the only way some people could find the apartment. When I get back, I see someone through the window who wasn't there when I left. Window was still foggy from cooking. So I get inside, and lo and behold, there's rebecca. I go and put the shepherd's pie in the oven, the sun goes further down, and we all start drinking.

April comes over with a fantastic pumpkin cake. Very yummy.

Kelly brought out the digital camera, which still had some ::blush:: naughty pics on it we'd taken a while ago. So, after sharing them, she got ahead to the blank spots on the memory card and took pictures.

I spent much of the night playing bartender and drinking. Here's some recipes I came up with that went over well with people:

STRAWBERRY BANANA DAQUIRI

3 pt. captain morgan's spiced rum
2 pt. creme de banana
2 pt. strawberry schnapps

shake with ice, pour.

PURPLE STRAWBERRY MARGARITA

3 pt. tequila
4 pt. blue curacao
2 pt. sweet and sour mix
large handful of frozen strawberries

put in blender, blend till smooth, pour

SOBE THINGIE

3 pt. blue curacao
1 can Sobe adrenaline rush

pour sobe over shot of blue curacao in glass. serve.

STRAWBERRY THINGIE

8 pt. strawberry schnapps
large handful of frozen strawberries

put in vlender, blend till smooth. Pour (this ended up being a big hit, killed most of the bottle of strawberry schnapps this way)

GREEN PUNCH STUFF

1 bottle blue curacao
1/2 gallon orange juice
2 liter gingerale
8 oz mandarin oranges

mix in a bowl, serve (also a really big hit of the night, the recipe was prepared in halves. I'm not sure if I got this right, Kelly's the one who actually mixed it)

AMARETTO SOUR
3 pt. amaretto
2 pt. sweet and sour mix

shake with ice. Pour.

(note: Where I'm saying part, I poured the alcohol through the spout in the bottle and said "1 mississippi". 3 pts. is one shot.

So later in the night, we all end up in Kelly's bed, talking and drinking, being whacky. At some point, as I started to come down, I left the party in the bed and played some guitar. Then I laid down and closed my eyes, only to be awakened by a thoroughly intoxicated rebecca laying down in my bed next to me. I just kinda shrugged and went back to sleep. Apparently she was sleeping on the bed where everyone else was still ahving fun and talking, so they sent her in with me. No complaints here.

Around seven we woke up and were talking about something, I believe how to alleviate a hangover or whatnot. One thing that can be said about both Rebecca and me is that we speak rather loudly. Woke Kelly up.

The rest of it is all kinda blurry. I drank way too much for my own good, but it was fun nonetheless. We'll have to do that again sometime, and more of you local LJ people will have to show up! (Or even come from afar, if we plan it far enough in advance ::grin:: )
