Australia: Land of the Guitar, the Drum Kit, the Male Vocalist, and that Pink Floyd Album I Never Liked..

I do, however, quite like Jeff Buckley's Grace, which came in at number two.

( Beneath the cut, curious, is the list, and I've put what I like in bold, struck out what I didn't like, italicized what I have no strong opinion for, and left blank what I haven't heard. )

(EDIT: Except that I really like the song, 'Under the Bridge'. But the rest of the album is rubbish.)

Er... You like the kinda sucky song on an album full of stone-cold classics? I'm schoqued (not really, but hey... we have interesting overlaps and underlaps, and I'll post my own response to this dumbass list soon.)

it's a pretty boring list, really, but i was impressed by your hate of the old bob dylan. it might rival my beatles hate.

This list needs a category "liked it once, now can't fucking stand it" or at least some way of indicating transitions between categories. Maybe format changes in the middle of album titles :-)

You need to get some Smiths in you as well. It's not compulsory to like it, but eh. You should at least have heard The Queen Is Dead.

i've heard some of the smiths. i've heard stuff from every artist up there, actually, but a lot of them i just haven't bothered with following back some more.

and yeah, it does need a i liked it once and then you used it in every commercial and movie and now it's ruined choice.

This list is insane really. It's such an overwhelmingly male, overwhelmingly rock-oriented list. I mean, I listen to predominantly male artists, predominantly rock music and even I'm scared by the apparent bias of this list.

Oh, and it's an incredibly white list as well. There's exactly one non-white artist on there by my count.

Oh how I loathe Kid A. Amnesiac was even worse - one of those hideous moments where a previously sensational band crawled desperately up its own arse becoming an ouroboros of self-inflicted "art". For more information, see anything by Bjork after Post.

heh. KID A is my favourite of the radiohead albums. AMNESIAC kinda blows, yeah, and HAIL TO THE THIEF was nothing flash, but i dig KID A. the solo album from thom yorke has grown on me a lot, tho.
