Only in America
I have heard that the phrase “only in America” is a good thing on the left hand side of the pond, and a bad thing inEngland. Here’s a few reflections on my week in Memphis.
Good things
Lots of food.
World barbecue championships- the only world championship I have ever been to, and the best.
Corkys barbecue emporium.
The Memphis redbirds, and baseball in general.
Bad things
Drive through banks and pharmacies. FFS, walk!
Quality of food.
Adverts everywhere. Even the home runs are sponsored in the baseball. It’s like having every try at rugby sponsored by an engine oil company. Ludicrous.
Just plain strange.
Christiansingles.com. There advertising campaign is that god wants you to meet someone, but sometimes he wants you to subscribe to websites….
