Random Thought For the Moment: I love freshly sharpened pencils. I love everything about them; their smell, color, the precise text they produce before they wear down and smudge. I used to hate all pencils when I was a kid because they were the only writing utensils we were allowed to use, but then we all started using pens and so a certain pencil novelty was born for me.
My feet ache today. I've been up since 6 because I had to be at the restauraunt at seven. From there I came here to Kaplan and regardless of the fact I have made a point to stay in the sitting position, my feet are still throbbing.
Finished horrible british trash novel two nights ago, after finishing A Confederacy of Dunces. Have started reading Under the Tuscan Sun, which is so much better than the movie because it's not about the drama of a divorce. It's about making those big choices in life that can either ruin you or yield the most amazing results. The writer also does an amazing job painting the Italian countryside with her words. Two chapters in I caught myself choked up(yeah, go ahead and laugh) because it was so beautiful. That was also when I realized the wunderlust had set in again, which was not mixing well with the idea of moving home for a while. I just keep reminding myself there is a bigger goal to look forwards too instead of dwelling on the anti-climatic return home.
Rushing out of the office today to get my tire patched(FINALLY) and to go and pick up Iron and Wine's new album along with Mark Lanegan's Bubblegum. Eh, both have grown on me enought to justify purchase.
