I took Friday off as a bio-filter day. I went to Arlington Thursday night, and Elisabeth had school on Friday as usual. She got up that morning and put my contacts in instead of her own. She knew she couldn't see right and they felt weird, but thought she could drive to school anyway. At least she had enough sense to turn around and go home at the end of the street. She then told mom that they were defective, threw them away, and put in new ones, although hers were still sitting in their case on the bathroom sink. She gets to school late. I wake up and have no contacts. We figure out what happened, but I wasn't worried because I keep a spare pair in my purse. For some wild reason, I have two right contacts and no left. We then spent some time trying to call optometrists that we know to get a sample contact in my prescription. No one has my prescription in stock. Mom and I then have to drive back to Jackson to get a left contact from my house. On the way, there is a wreck on the interstate that delays us a solid hour, making it a 2 hour trip total. Once I get contacts in and we grab lunch, we have just enough time to drive directly to Elisabeth's school to pick her up. I'm so glad I took 6 hours off work for that.
Sunday was orchestra practice for "A Christmas Carol" at Bethel in McKenzie, TN, so that was another 3 and a half hours of driving total. It went pretty well though, and although there are a few parts I really have to practice between now and Wednesday, overall, it is a thousand times easier to follow than "Into the Woods". The key signatures are a lot less friendly; it crosses back and forth from 6 sharps to 7 flats. Why?!?!
