I'm bored. So, I'm going to point out
this article about how the name "Nevaeh" has rocketed up the baby-name popularity chart. Nevaeh, which is "heaven" spelled backwards, has become the 70th most popular name for newborn girls, with 4457 girls being named Nevaeh this year (meanwhile, Melissa is only ranked 104th- sluts). That doesn't sound like much, but consider that just seven years ago, in 1999, only EIGHT girls in America received that name. So that's a 55,700% increase. The reason for this rise has been determined pretty much exactly: in 2000, Sonny Sandoval from POD went on MTV and introduced everybody to his new daughter, Nevaeh.
So I ask: Can this be explained because people just really like the name Nevaeh? Or do they really like the idea of heaven? If so, then why is "Heaven" a way less popular name? Maybe people just really like Sonny Sandoval? Is this a fad, like when one famous person forgot to take the sticker off of their shirt, and then pretty soon everyone in America was leaving their stickers on their shirts when just a week before they would've looked at someone with a sticker on their hat like someone who'd forgotten to take the size tags off their jeans? So what if Sonny had named his daughter Timov? Or Monkfish? Or FartAssDonkeyBitch?
Why do I find this so fascinating? And, most importantly, did you notice that the woman who wrote that article is named "Jennifer 8. Lee"? How cool is that? Rocking the number-name? If I have a daughter? Naming her i Π e.
The math jokes bring in the hunks. I'm tellin' ya.
