Something Different
You know you read too much when the themes of the books start to invade your dreams. For me, that's not a bad thing. I'm a lover of books and I love to write. Sometimes those dreams will give me an idea and I'll roll with it. I'll think how can I make that dream a story?
The dream I just woke up today from was definitely different. I'm a reader of Urban Fantasy. That's a genre I'm also writing in. I'm used to seeing creatures of the night in my dreams. The creatures I had in my dream last night though was a first. I've read only a few selected stories about angels and demons, basically anything with a Heaven and Hell theme. The theme seems to becoming more popular. Of course, I don't think it's a bad idea. If you can come up with a good plot, I say go for it.
Last night's dream involved a similar plot to a book I just finished last night, which of course, could be the reason I had a dream about it.
In it, just like the main character, I worked with the angels who were preparing for the war with the demons. Yup, it's pretty much an end of the world theme.It was definitely different for me. I"m use to dreaming about vampires, werewolves, ghosts, but never have I had a dream of the end of the world.
It wasn't a nightmare for me but it was an interesting experience to dream something that I would never dream of.
I'm guessing tonight when I dream again, I won't see the world of Heaven and Hell. I'm just guessing, of course. I guess we'll just have to wait and see where the world of fiction takes me today. Who knows, maybe I'll have a dream dealing with my personal life. Now that sometimes can be a nightmare.
