John smirks as Luis comes into the bedroom, yawning loudly. He’s a bit sleepy, the little Spaniard. It’s understandable though. John made him watch this scientific documentary about sharks and other sea animals that couldn’t have interested Luis any less. Luis had to follow it only because John himself was rather interested, whereas Luis just wanted to change the programme or, well, do something completely different.

Come over for dinner, watch a bit TV, kiss a bit, grope a bit, have sex and go back home. Probably, this had been Luis’ plan. Stupid documentation about sharks then?

John smirks again.

After watching TV Luis states that he is too tired to drive now and that he wants to sleep at John’s place but he has not brought anything with him. Because this was not the original plan, John adds in his mind.

John’s always happy if there is not much need of convincing Luis to stay for the night, thus he doesn’t mind giving Luis some of his pyjamas to sleep in. Out of habit he just took the one on top of the pile of pyjamas and gave it to his lover. And now, now that Luis comes out of the bathroom into the bedroom, yawning and being tired, John cannot help but giggle a little.

By chance John took the one pyjama that was already a bit too big for him - since it had been a present from his aunt a few years back and he just had been to lazy to return it for something his size - now imagine it on Luis.

The little Spaniard looks even tinier than he usually does, the sleeves and legs way too long for him and it’s also much too wide around the waist and chest. He looks a bit lost like this.

But when John laughs at him softly, Luis giggles with him. “It’s too big,” he says, spreading his arms to the side, showing John just how much too big it really is.

And when John asks him whether he wants a different one Luis just shakes his head, saying that this one fulfils its purpose perfectly fine, too. As Luis comes close to the bed, just to slip in under the sheets next to John, the Norwegian watches him closely.

Once Luis lies next to him, he can’t help but reach for him and pull him into a warm embrace. It’s as if his body did this automatically, not asking his brain whether he should do so now or not. It’s this need of wanting to keep Luis warm, to protect him and give him some shelter that makes him do it, he thinks.

John knows perfectly fine that Luis is not a helpless, little child, that he is not lost on his own - well, most of the time - but still. There is something in Luis’ smallness that makes him want to protect his lover. And really, Luis does not seem to mind as he wriggles his body until it fits perfectly into John’s arms.

If you looked at them now, snuggling close, it would seem as if their bodies were two little pieces of a puzzle, destined to only be complete together, to only give the perfect picture once brought together. And if you liked the Asian culture you’d call it a Ying-Yang.

A Ying-Yang. That’s basically what they are. So very different, but balancing out each other so very well. Luis’ liveliness and bounciness and John’s calmness and relaxedness. So very perfect together. Luis can easily excite John, whereas John can easily make Luis calm down.

Well, not always, but most of the time. So very perfect together.

John sighs as he looks down at Luis, who’s head is resting on the Norwegian’s shoulder. Luis looks peaceful like this, the little angel he can be, he thinks.

And then, yawning himself, he kisses the Spaniard’s scalp before he whispers a soft “Sleep well.”
