Let's talk Inception.

First of all, I have a new layout: benitle. Ain't it pretty? I'm still getting used to it. I've had the Sam/Dean layout forever and whenever I go to some LJ now, I'm all "oh wow, does So-and-so have a new layout?" and then I remember that I watch everything in my own style and that I have a new layout. Silly me. There's two minor things I wanted to tweak

I like it... particularly if a) used to annoy Arthur, b) Eames just can't help it because he wuvs A that much or c) in extreme stress circumstances.

I don't hate it in other circumstances - and I'm not surprised by it. I mean, we've got less than 3 hours of canon, and so authors need a hook to make them recognisable as the canon characters in their minds and the minds of the audience, and there's not all that much variety to chose from in that length of screen time. For fandom (certainly for me ;) 'dream a little bigger, darling' has become the defining point of Eames's character - why wouldn't they use that as part of the character construct?

Re your other thoughts on Yaoi - I like OCD Arthur, I confess, but for the rest could not agree more! (Maybe OK with Cobb matchmaking? Hmm. IDK, I can allow quite a lot of leeway with Cobb's character because I can believe he was very different before Mal died, and that he'll be very different now he's completed his all-encompassing mission).

I HATE authors apologising for anything in their fic header!!!! ARG! May I also add apologising that this is not 'the sequel to... it's coming, I promise!!!1111!!one!!!' *scowl* I'm pretty sure the interweb is NOT waiting desperately, counting each moment, for your next words, man. Sry. Get over yourself.

Exactly! There is not all that much canon about Eames and Arthur and I don't find it wrong or unbelievable if someone takes that little bit of canon and expands on it. It just doesn't seem to bother me. To me, Eames came across as flirty toward Arthur, even if to Eames that meant annoying the hell out of Arthur. What's better than an unwanted pet name? *shrug*

I don't mind OCD Arthur as long as it's not overdone. I mean, we've seen him in something different than a three piece suit. I just find it hard to believe that he would be so compulsive that he'd force Eames to slow down in a heap of passion only so that Arthur can fold his suit properly as he undresses. ;) That's a good point about Cobb actually. I hadn't considered that before. I might even be in for match-maker Cobb if the author (totally typed Arthur here), sells it properly.

I am attempting at writing Inception fic. But apparently, I'm doing it all wrong. ;)
