Allons-y!
Well.
Since I may not be in the media industry much longer, I guess I don't really have much to post about it. (Other than I miss it terribly and why-oh-why do things like the former Ontario Attorney General getting arrested have to happen when I'm NOT AT A NEWSPAPER.)
In other news...
A couple of weeks ago, I went to FanExpo in Toronto. That was my first time at a ComicCon. Just Ryan and I went coz we're cool like that and I was super sad I missed my friend Grant, who had a table in Artist's Alley, but was mc'ing a wedding that day.
BUT I got to meet the super awesomely nice Ty Templeton, who drew a fabulously lovely Joker/Harley sketch for me and we chatted about how popular the pairing is (It's by far the most requested sketch, says Ty) and he said to say Hello to the awesome princessebee , for whom he included her real name in a story about Harley Quinn.
Also, I just accepted to go back to school to become a paralegal. That means I can't dole out any legal advice, chumps, but I get to go through all kinds of court files, which... well, I don't know if you've ever read a search warrant before, but it gives me goosebumps. Stuff that happens in court is so salacious sometimes, I mean you can't make this stuff up. And I've already been a court reporter so... HELLO MATCH.
And I had my birthday on Saturday. Thanks

captain_clown for the birthday wishes. I went to Toronto for the big day and wanted to just go out dancing to a bar we used to frequent during university years. So we get there and there's a red carpet leading to the door, a lady with a list and a bunch of paparazzi. Oh yeah! Turns out it's rented out for a private party for the Toronto International Film Fest.
So I give her a big smile, tell her it's my birthday, she lets us in, we get free drink tickets and she tells us: "It's gonna be awesome. It's the afterparty for the movie, Suck."
Cue dramatic eye rolling/cruel irony music coz holy crap, did the party ever suck. They have a huge place rented out and everyone is standing around schmoozing, talking really loudly while really loud music is playing. Thank God we were already trashed, but I swear, it very nearly killed my buzz.
What else? Well, I'm totally pimping the Twitterverse.
This is an awesome Deadpool. Seriously. Check him out. I laugh EVERY TIME. But also he does *emo* Wade, too. Really.
Jason Todd, who's rp'er got me into the character and now I spend my money on more comics, damn you!
A very adorable Spoiler and a Tim Drake and an ultra HILARIOUS Bart Allen who even writes as though he has ADD. There are lots of other good rp'ers, and I'll add them next round.
